Opensource Windows Application

By Opensource, most of us naturally mistake it only as Linux based softwares. Almost all softwares for Linux operating system are free and they are quite capable to stand next to commercial windows Application in terms of their performance,usuability and stability.

Now, for them who don't want to dive into the world of Linux to taste those opensource programs, they can still enjoy using Opensource Windows Application. We know few of them OpenOffice,Gimp etc.

There are great Open source software which can beat their propritery competitorse and can be used with windows . For audio editing there is Audicity , for instant messenging their is GAIM and for animation and 3d rendering their is Blender 3d . Open Office can also run with windows but its is not as good as Microsoft office.

While the first part of your post highlghts some exttrordinary FOSS apps, I can't understand the last comment. OpenOffice in many ways is BETTER then MS Office, it just depends on what you are doing with it. There are some capabilities in OO that MS does not even have!

sorry man , but its just my opinion ...... i dint feel comfortable with the Open Office ........ well and you are right when you say they both have their specialties so let's not compare them all right ...... and still the last time i used Open Office was even months before this post was made :) ...... i have daul booted Linux but i still use cross platform software and run some windows apps in linux too
