Dalai Lama's Blog
(http://www.newsgroper.com/dalai-lama/)
The Dalai Lama is the supreme leader of Tibetan Buddhism and a living incarnation of Buddha. A veritable Yoda for the New Age masses, the Dalai Lama has attracted such fans as Richerd Gere, Pope John Paul II and the spiritual master himself, Steven Segal. The current Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, has served the post for over 70 years. His popularity has been attributed to his fairness, open-mindedness and above all, an intense hugability.

iLightenment

I received my new iPhone at 9 p.m., June 29, after three and a half days of meditation in line behind a blessed 17-year-old boy who made his fortune selling pictures of women’s feet over the internet. I could not possibly be happier with my purchase (unlike some others).

I suppose your fulfillment will depend on your reason for wanting one. I bought mine to bring communication at the temple into the 21st century. As it was, one of the monks in a neighboring temple would signal me with a 75-foot pyre of flame, and I would shed my mortal body and project my spirit to him across the astral plane. In the end, we decided that a two-year service agreement with AT&T required slightly less suffering.

I am only having one difficulty. I am unable to load Freddy Mercury’s magnum opus “Fat Bottom Girls” on it. If someone could please explain to me how to defeat Microsoft’s akusala, Windows Media DRM, I would be most grateful.

Wellllllll... if you think this Blog of venerable Dalai Lama is for real, then you are wrong. Newsgroper.com is a site or say blog where all the real celebrities names are used by fake celebrities. It seems real celebrities are making blog posting but in real it's the fake authors who are doing so. I was astonished that they didn't spare even the tibetan spiritual leader on their rampage.

The site is full of humorous postings by so called fake celebrities that will certainly make someone entertain for a while but seeing someone like Dalai Lama on it, i felt really bad.

May be political figures or entertainment celebrities who are full of earthly scandals, they deserve to be the target of such satirical harassments but people like Dalai Lama. They don't deserve such things.

I wish the newsgroper.com removes the content on Dalai Lama or make the author who is acting as Dalai Lama to quit.

Here are the actual words of the Dalai Lama in a Reader's Digest Canada interview here: http://www.readersdigest.ca/mag/2004/05/dalai_lama.html

"RD: As a monk, what experiences do you think you’ve missed that ordinary people have?

Dalai Lama: I obviously missed this [points to his groin—and laughs].

RD: Are you sorry to have missed it?

Dalai Lama: No. For monks and nuns, the practice of celibacy is not just a rule. Our main target is to try and reduce negative emotions. Sexual desire and sexual attachment are enjoyable, but these actually act as a basis to anger, hatred and jealousy.

Monks fast, and clothes are limited. All these practices are not for just getting more peace of mind, but for Moksha, liberation."

Sounds like the Dalai Lama has a pretty good sense of humor and you... Well, you don't. I'm not sure if you are a practicing buddhist or not but I think you need to lighten up. "Be a light unto yourself."

Anon aka hadji aka Scott Graham,
first of all, i'm a buddhist boy and i've not reached that level of enlightenment but i'm pretty sure, my sense of humor is not that weak either as you are supposing.

Venerable Dalai Lama, to me, is a very diplomatic at times and he talks according to the situation to cultivate his knowledge. He is very down to earth buddhist figure but still lots of people pray him as a god. You believe it or not, here in Boudha,Nepal, we have a saying " Someone who is not getting enough food/money and good life, if he hangs the portray (framed image)of Dalai Lama on the wall, he/she'll gradually have prosperous life". He still keeps saying he's a normal person so as to prove to others that he's not showy or something like that but as his disciples, they know who actually he is.

There are some lines on this post of mine which i borrowed from http://www.newsgroper.com/dalai-lama/
which tried to depict him as a very cheap and with no moral values. And thats only where i concerned. I just wanted to let you know that but if you insist and keep favoring stuffs like this, i'll have to mail this post to great lamas around the world.(but seeing that last posts on that blog,i've nothing to criticize, i had fun reading it) I've a request to you, i've no grudge on you and i don't have any problem with you sir, please don't make a joke of him just because he told to a reporter something nasty. He just wanted to let us all feel as normal as you and me. He is ever smiling and fun-making but somethings are hard to get inside. It's an attack on our belief. I still have no grudge towards you and i'm not here to argue with you, but opposing is right without hatrad(as Dalai Lama said himself).
