Man mistakes porn DVD as woman's cries for help
Oconomowoc - Instincts took over, James Van Iveren says, when he rushed out his door to the sound of a woman being raped in an apartment above.
"It was a woman screaming," he recalled Tuesday. "She was screaming for help."
Sword in hand, he bounded up the stairs, kicked in the door and confronted a man who turned out to be alone - watching a pornographic movie.
Van Iveren
"Now I feel stupid," Van Iveren said.
Worse yet, police seized his sword - a family heirloom - carted him to jail and referred the case to a prosecutor who charged Van Iveren with three criminal counts.
"This really is nothing," Van Iveren insisted, "nothing but a mistake."
Van Iveren's "mistake" unfolded on the morning of Feb. 12 when Van Iveren, 39, of Oconomowoc, was listening to music in the apartment he shares with his mother behind Red & Bunny's Diner on S. Main St.
Suddenly, according to Van Iveren, the distinct cries of a woman pleading for help could be heard coming from the apartment above him. He tried putting them out of his mind at first, but when they persisted, Van Iveren decided something had to be done.
"I don't have a telephone," he said. "I couldn't call the police."
The cries seemed to be coming from the apartment of a tenant he barely knew, but that, Van Iveren said, didn't matter.
"It had nothing to do with him," he said. "I didn't even know if he was there. It was the woman. I thought there was a woman."
The woman, according to a criminal complaint, was on a DVD being watched by the neighbor, who later played part of the movie back for police to point out what he figured Van Iveren heard downstairs.
To Van Iveren, the neighbor's film sounded like a rape in progress.
"So I grabbed the cavalry sword and ran upstairs," he said. "I intended to hold it behind my back and knock.
"But I froze and instead, what happened happened."
According to the criminal complaint, the neighbor told police that Van Iveren pounded on the door and kicked it open without warning, damaging the frame and lock in the process.
"Where is she?" Van Iveren demanded, thrusting the 39-inch sword at the neighbor, according to the complaint. "Where is she?"
The neighbor told police that Van Iveren became increasingly aggressive as he repeated the question, insisting that he'd heard a woman being raped. With the sword pointed at him, the neighbor led Van Iveren throughout the apartment, opening closet doors to prove he was alone, according to the complaint.
Van Iveren said it wasn't nearly that dramatic.
"I walked in the front room and looked around," he said. "When I saw there was no woman, I left.
"I went downstairs and when I looked out the window, I saw the police had come, so I went out to tell them what happened."
Van Iveren insisted that he never threatened the neighbor with the sword.
"I had the sword extended," he said. "But that was all."
The neighbor wasn't home when a reporter visited the building Tuesday, and he could not be reached by telephone.
For his effort, Van Iveren was charged with criminal trespass while using a dangerous weapon, criminal damage to property while using a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct while using a dangerous weapon, all criminal misdemeanors that carry a maximum total penalty of 33 months in jail.
"All of them are going to be dismissed," he predicted. "They have to.
"This was all just a big mistake."
The prosecutor who issued the charges could not be reached for comment Tuesday. Van Iveren, who was released on a signature bond when he was charged last week, is due to appear in court March 5.
He faces charges after entering apartment with sword in tow.

Using your Digital Camera for Best Photography
Photography is an art to capture those moments of our lives for future reference. I was taught these things when i took a basic crash course on photography and indeed it's very true. Taking the best shots of subject without knowing much about what you are into, it has no meaning. A picture speaks a thousand words and to portray that into, photography is must.
A great ebook on using digital camera. With this, even a novice would have a concept on how to do photography. One can learn very fast with the concepts in ebook.
The ebook download link is inside. Please check in.
From the book: "
All great images, digital or otherwise, start by capturing a great photo and capturing great photos requires an understanding of your camera. It's these aspects of digital photography that this on-line book is all about.
A great photograph begins when you recognize a great scene or subject. But recognizing a great opportunity isn’t enough to capture it; you also have to be prepared. A large part of being prepared involves understanding your camera well enough to capture what you see. Getting you prepared to see and capture great photographs is what this book is all about. It doesn’t matter if you are taking pictures for business or pleasure, there’s a lot here to help you get better results and more satisfaction from your photography.
To get better, and possibly even great photographs, you need to understand both concepts and procedures; the "whys" and "hows" of photography. "

How to install Nepali Unicode??
Due to lots of requests and askings, i'm compelled to write this article here. It's about enabling Nepali unicode on your machine. I showed them the way to www.mpp.org.np but still they come and ask me to do that myself. So, i've put this very very simplified version here.
By default, unicode support is present in windows XP unlike Windows 98/me etc. So, you really don't have to care much about reading unicode enabled websites or documents from Windows XP unless you want to create one at your own machine.
For this you've to install Nepali Unicode Enviroment if you want to type in Romanized Nepali.
Well, unicode is 16-bit character set standard, designed to include characters appearing in most languages. This is very helpful in localization project. Nepali unicode font has been developed by Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya (MPP). Since, unicode is a standard, we really don't have to think of individual font. For ex; Preeti font(It is true type nepali font), if someone has worked on that font, then he/she may not be able to open his document in someother computer where there is no Preeti font. So, Preeti font must be there too. This is lots of hassles. There are lots of Nepali TTF fonts which means all fonts have to be installed everytime you work on any documents that is created using those fonts.
Therefore, Unicode removes all these restrictions. It's the universal standard. MPP has released a software to write in Nepali unicode from you own computer. But before that you've to know what are the process. Though, all these processes are mentioned in their official website www.mpp.org.np. I've simplified and tried to put them here concisely:
1) First of all, you've to make your system ready for Nepali Unicode. The process is different for windows 2000 and windows xp.
For windows 2000
- Click Start/Settings/Control Panel
- Click Regional Options
- On the General tab go to the 'Language settings for the system' and scroll down. Ensure that Indic Language is checked.
(You will need Windows 2000 CD to complete the installation)
For windows XP
- Go to Control Panel
- Click on the "Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options"
- Click on the "Regional and Language Options"
- On the Languages tab, ensure that "Complex script and right-to-left languages" is checked
- On the Languages tab, ensure that "Complex script and right-to-left languages" is checked. (You will need Windows XP CD to complete the installation)
2) Now install the Nepali Unicode Environment. Download this from here or here
3) Okay, last step is to configure the keyboard settings.
In windows XP,
- Go to the "Date, Time, Languages, and Regional Options" on the control panel again.
- Click on the "Regional and Languages Options"
- Click on the Languages Tab
- Click on the Details button
- In the installed services, click on the Add button
- In the Input Language, select Sanskrit
- In the Keyboard layout/IME, select Nepali Unicode
In windows 2000,
- Go to the "Regional Options" on the control panel again.
- Click on the Input Locale tab
- Click on the Add button
- In the Input Locale, select Sanskrit
- In the Keyboard Layout/IME select Nepali Unicode from the selection box.
- Click ok and ok on the Regional Option panel as well.
After Rebooting your computer you will be ready to use Nepali font and the typing tutor as well as the sorting utility.
Oh yes, if you need additional unicode utilities, download it
for TypeMaster
for Nepali Thesauras
for Nepali Dictionary
Okie everything is done. You've to type but how? Romanized unicode is very easy. Forget the 'ba,ka,ma,na' in old type methods. That's hectic. Just check out the keyboard layout and start practicing. Layouts are here.
Practicing?? you opened Notepad or wordpad (anything) but couldn't figure how to type there in nepali. You did it right? but failed.. i know. You've to change the language settings. You could do that in shortcut way. Just press ALT + SHIFT while you are in Notepad or anyother wordprocessor and start typing. To revert back to English language, press ALT + SHIFT once more. SO, this ALT+SHIFT is the magic key combo, you see!!!
Now, if you've documents in True Type nepali font formats, then there is a utility to convert them to unicode font. That little software is called converter(Rupanter). Now,i don't need to tell you each and everythhing here, how to use this. This is so easy, you can take help of your common sense. Download this utility from here.
Last but not the least, while saving documents in Unicode format, don't use the classic ANSI format as encoding. You've to set it as UTF-8 format as encoding. And, now the web part, some forums or website don't easily take unicode. If you want to write there, type unicode documents in word processor, copy it and paste on website forums. It's the simple trick you can use.
For latest edition, don't forget to check www.mpp.org.np. The information is very overwhelming out there, so i put this simplified version of my own here.
NOTE: .NET FRAMEWORK is needed if you are unable to install anyone of the utility mentioned above. Download it from here

Catch Me If You Can
He posed as a doctor, a pilot, and a lawyer without any training and got away with it. But he'll appear simply as himself to keynote an upcoming security conference.
Frank Abagnale, whose life story was depicted in the film "Catch Me If You Can," has signed up to keynote the RSA Conference Europe, taking place in London in October.
Within a five year period, starting when he was 16 years old, Abagnale cemented his reputation as a famous confidence man. He cashed over $2.5 million in fake checks and illegitimately worked in a variety of professions, including college professor and pediatrician.
Abagnale got caught in France when he was 21 and was released after five years in prison on the condition that he teach and assist law enforcement agencies without pay.
Since then, for more than 25 years, Abagnale has served as an associate with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, conducting lectures about forgery and embezzlement for trainees. He has also developed technology used by banks and businesses to help prevent check fraud. His security procedures and educational programs are used by thousands of companies and law enforcement agencies.
In a statement on his Web site, Abagnale wrote that the book and the film, which starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, exaggerated the facts of his life. He also said he regrets his past life of crime. "I consider my past immoral, unethical and illegal. It is something I am not proud of. I am proud that I have been able to turn my life around and in the past 25 years, helped my government, my clients, thousands of corporations and consumers deal with the problems of white collar crime and fraud," he wrote.
The RSA Conference is an information security meeting that takes place several times each year in different locations, including San Francisco, London and Japan. The London event will occur Oct. 22 through Oct. 24.

Windows Live Messenger Ad threat
Well fellas! this news was released worldwide in 20th February 2007. But i forgot to write something on it. Now,i'm doing that. Microsoft has always been into arguments/contradictions and scandals. They are the targets of many hackers/crackers/spoofers/scammers.. Now, the recent news discloses that a false AD has been generating on Client sides messenger, that's apparently on Windows Live messenger.
That AD is related to security application and it warned the IM user, a computer has been seriously infected with virus or some other malware. Something like that, and the innocent user has no other choice but to purchase their bogus program. That program, as microsoft said, falsely generated illogical threats in computer so that users could be scared.
News ahead..
Banner advertisements for a security application said to report false or inflated threats appeared for at least a few days on Microsoft's instant messaging (IM) program, prompting warnings from security analysts.
Microsoft appears to have removed the ads, which were displayed in the contacts panel for its IM program, Windows Live Messenger, said Sandi Hardmeier, a Microsoft Most Valued Professional, a designation the company gives to people who have expertise with its products.
The program, known as Winfixer, falsely warns a computer has been infected with malicious software, according to Symantec. It asks users to buy a program to remove the unwanted software.
"Quite often, it reports files that are perfectly safe," Hardmeier said. "It uses a lot of false positives. Basically, it's a rip off."
Other security companies, such as Sophos and McAfee, classify Winfixer as a "potentially unwanted application."
Hardmeier, who notified Microsoft of the problem, said the ads that appeared on Windows Live Messenger tried two ways to get users to install Winfixer on their machine.
The first was via a pop-up window offering to scan the computer for problems, she wrote. Depending on the version of Internet Explorer used, Winfixer would try to download itself through an Active X control, she said.
The second way was through a banner advertisement that a user would have to click before being taken to a Web site offering Free PC-Secure, a program that is detected as Winfixer by most security software, she said. Winfixer goes by several different names, including ErrorSafe and DriveCleaner.
Microsoft had done well preventing spyware programs from being advertised in banner ads on Windows Live Messenger, formerly known as MSN Messenger, Hardmeier wrote on her blog on her blog, Spyware Sucks.
But Winfixer has proved a tricky foe. Advertising networks have had trouble with Winfixer ads suddenly being served up by their networks despite no affiliation with its creators, Hardmeier said.
The suspicion is that organizations have falsely registered with the networks and substituted Winfixer ads -- hosted on their own servers -- instead of the advertisements they agreed to supply, she said.
Microsoft officials contacted in London on Monday morning could not immediately comment.

PopStar Britney Spear BALDED
"Look at that jerk, myan.. it's kevin federline..darn him. he is such a jerk. It's so much shame on him to feed on britneys money." i never saw him as a celebrity like Austin Timberlake or other. These are the words for kevin federline when i see him on TV, everytime. Now, ever since, he was found cheating on britney's back, as news source quoted, britney signed on their divorse paper lately.

The rumors are on that eversince that happened , britney's gone out of mind, reckless and mad. Her behaviours in public, party bars were adequate to prove her mental condition. No matter if her proponents won't agree with the fact but amateur photo shots and video reveal pretty much.
Now, she is loosing her career. She is on the verge of her destiny. she earned a lot of thing and now, she is loosing them one by one in a split of time. Her official fan site club is now no more. It's stopped. She is condemned for her deeds. Her fans are turning into rivals. But no matter what, i blame that jerk kevin federline. He deserve to rotten in jail.
That jerk is showing his way up on SmackDown WWE too. It's really pleasing to see when he's beaten up badly but it's lousy script really sucks when he is put on strong spree. When he brags , i feel like smash up my TV monitor. But that's my TV, not of that son of a bitch. Whatever, it's their life. WWE is all about acting and wrestling. Great actors..:)
Now, britney is doomed with this new look.. ooopppppsssss. she shaved her head. it's horrible. She has lost her charm. I don't know what does that mean to her. But i really really feel sorry for her. My mother was great fan of her but ever since, she shaved her hair, she too thinks spears has gone crazy.
At MTV(indian) channel, once i saw (amidst channel surfing)a balded lady taking part in the competition and later withdrawing back from. I mean, is it fashion for a lady to become bald or what? On one movie too, recently i saw few balded women. ahemmm..they'll loose charm if all these women on earth started to become bald. Prena,if you are reading this, don't get bald.. ho ho just kidding. ahem... Now, why women becomes bald, for that i really have to tinker with the great thinkers/writers mind around or read a book on Britney spears in coming days.

BORAT
I was getting bored late afternoon. I knew what is concerned at that moment, i went to one local shop in mid-ktm area and bought a movie with a skinny guy posing awkwardly in its cover. His name was Borat, i figured that out after i watched the movie. It was quite unusual to see an american flag on Muslim looking guys hand.

At it's cover, there was subheading"Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan". i couldn't get at first go what was that really meant but it's how Borat make conversation with others in the whole movie. His broken language at times made me laugh whereas leaving other native speakers speechless out of curiosity or anxiety.
whateva,.. he belongs to his country land called Kazakistan and the whole movie is based on journey to America to learn american culture for the benefit of kazakistan. I think he is presenter or reporter of his local news. In the middle somewhere, i felt it's a documentary episode but as story goes, you couldn't stop laughing.
The story starts with something unexpected. He feels no guilt telling everyone that his very own sister is awarded prostitute in town. Morever, as story continues, some of the moments like " his brothers willingness to sexually abuse his own sister, his wife would break his cock(penis) if found looking after another women,.. " are some of the uncomfortable and disgusting situations presented.
Besides,if i've to comment this movie, it's one of the hilarious movie. I started to laugh and making gestures on my face from the very begining to end. well..ha ha h aha ha.. there is one scene. He is shown interviewing one ambassador,Borat convinces him there is ritual and ritual is to feed a cheese before any initiation to a guest. So, he feeds a cheese and now he starts to bluff his own way about cheese. At last, he paralyzes the ambassador by telling him that it is made of his wife's breast milk. ha ha ha ha.. the look on th ambassador's face is to be noticed.. that was damn worthy of noting down something.
There are lots of other funny scenes that you wouldn't want to miss. But, seriously i've to warn you guys, this movie is full of profanities. Just like caressing gay's genital, showing pics of his cousins 17 cm long penis to his host, naked wrestling with his producer Azamat(i'm not sure if this is the name).. these are something more than fun. So, you should stay away if you are not adult. i found it gross when their pet bear is beheaded and kept like on dish plate in freezer. When is the bear beheaded, there is no clue but the bears beheaded head is shown when the conversation was going on for the topic of "Animal rights".
Well, yah.. this movie is eccentric, every fun loving people must watch it, jokes are not awful they are great, and moreover there is pamela anderson at last. See how borat knocks out pamela anderson. the whole journey takes place to see pamela anderson.
last word, go and watch it.

War of mobile phones
Being loyal to Sony Ericsson phone for so many years, greed to own a symbian based smartphone, i switched to Nokia N70. That was the best with the money i could ever buy. In fact, i wanted to buy N80 but with the price it was tagged with, i couldn't get with my limited budget. Anyways, i've no regrets owning N70. Because, it's feature rich,3G ready and more. You could just google if you are interested on any mobile phone. Okay, the fantastic things i've done with my N70 is that i've installed an app called 'N70 torch' and whao, this phone is super-crazy torch light(very helpful during loadshedding). I've installed some emulators which let me play gameboy and NES games. Now, it's handheld game device for me as well. May be lots of people don't know about what they can do with their devices, usually i tinker around with everything i own, most of the time, seriously.

One night, i was updating N70's firmware to latest one and it took whole 4 hours on my mere crawling Dial up. But, it was really horrific moment when it was updating it's firmware because, the connection could die any moment. It was infact a praywork that worked most. :) If connection would have lost, it would have rendered my newly owned N70 to useless crap, irrecoverable. Lucky me, i succeeded.
Well, i was about to blog about Apple iPhone. So far, to my personal experience, APPLE computers were and still are owned by different group of people who could pay more for a computer. Apple computers often called as Macintosh system, i don't know, are the luxury for richest or for them who hates Microsoft and IBM whatsoever.

Whatever, i've not yet used Macintosh, i was astonished to read about their IPOD's popularity. Now, they released iPhone. If i'm not wrong, it's their first initiative on mobile phone business. Now, time will tell us if their Apple iPhone will become a success story as of their Ipod series or just a mere failure. There are already big fishes in a pond like Nokia,SE,Samsung,LG,alcatel and more. It's now Apple iPhone.
I came to know they changed their corporate brandname APPLE COMPUTER to Apple Inc. Now, this is a sign that they are into variety of businesses. They are no more restricted to computer business. Good for them.
One thing really fascinated me about iPhone is their multi-touch display technology. I mean one needs no stylus or any sort of pen-like sensored device, it's just your finger with which you've to access innumerable menus and application within it. But sadly, i also learnt no symbian app or java app would work there. I call it Apples way of doing business. But who cares, there are emulators in progress, may be. Lets see that to in coming up days.

Killer Thermometer
I never knew the mercury inside the glass thermometer is so harmful. It is on today's local newspaper i found that if accidental spilt of glass thermometer occurs, it can cause serious poisoning effects on human body. We have been using glass thermometer for so many years which contains the most lethal ingredients. Mercury, silvery liquid like metal, easily turns into vapour at normal room temperature(i.e 22-24 degree Centigrade) and when someone inhales it, it gets absorbed into the human body.

It's very common that we ignore the accidental breakage of glass thermometer. The mercury which can be easily absorbed by our skin into the blood stream, leading to tremors, nausea and blurred vision. Mercury is a neurotoxin which attacks the human nervous system and brain. it is more fatal on growing children than on adults. It can cause coma and death in many cases. Other symptoms mostly seeen on adults are tremors, headaches, blurred vision, poor concentration, hair loss and nausea. But, it takes 6 months or more for the body to naturally secretes the mercury only if he/she has no exposure to it.
In Asia, many doctors and health practioners still uses thermometer whereas it is learnt that westerners have already stopped or banned it's clinical use due to it's risk to human health.
According to Ravi Agarwal, head of the Delhi-based environmental group Toxics link,"Just one gram of mercury is enough to contaminate a 20 acre lake and make the fish unfit for eating. That is the kind of toxicity of mercury." So, we can calculate how dangerous it could be,using glass thermometer. Anyone in the vicinity could be the victim of mercury poisoning. So, the only way out is to use Digital thermometer.
Two months ago, I bought Digital thermometer, it is very safe and scientific. The measurement can be taken in degree or fahrenheit units and it is more accurate than glass thermometer. I urge everyone to discard the use of glass thermometer and be digital,be safe. Get digital thermometer from your neareset medical store.

Wikimedia Foundation popular Wikipedia online encyclopedia cracked the top ten list of most popular Web sites in the U.S. for the first time in January, according to comScore Networks.
Wikipedia sites ranked ninth with 42.9 million unique visitors last month, ahead of the sites from The New York Times (No.10), Apple (No.11) and Viacom International (No.12), comScore reported Thursday.
Wikipedia, which already ranked in the top 10 list of most popular Web sites globally, has been quickly gaining popularity in the U.S., where its parent company, the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, is based.
In January of last year, Wikipedia sites ranked in the 33rd spot with 18.3 million unique visitors. By July, it had climbed to the 18th spot on the list with 28.1 million unique visitors, and in November it ranked 12th with 39.1 million unique visitors, according to comScore.
In doing its tally for Wikipedia, comScore also counts visits to other Wikimedia sites, such as Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikibooks and Wikinews, but most of the traffic comes from the Wikipedia encyclopedias, a comScore spokesman said.
Wikipedia started in January 2001 with its English-language site, which currently has more than 1.6 million articles. The Wikipedia project has since grown significantly and has more than 5 million articles in more than 200 languages, according to WikiMedia. Access to Wikipedia is free. Windows Mobile phones to pack Opera
Some of the first Windows Mobile 6.0 phones to hit the market will include Opera Software ASA's mobile browser, in addition to Microsoft Corp.'s browser.
Motorola Inc.'s Q as well as phones from High Tech Computer Corp., Asus and Toshiba Corp. will include Opera Mobile, Jon von Tetzchner, co-founder and CEO of Opera, said at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona.
Microsoft launched Windows Mobile 6.0, the latest version of its mobile phone operating system, this week. Internet Explorer Mobile, Microsoft's browser, comes with the software. A number of handset makers announced this week plans to release phones running the operating system.
Von Tetzchner said the handset makers decided to add the Opera browser because most of the phones come with big screens and may be relatively expensive so they want to offer customers a good browsing experience. "People do want a quality browser when on Windows Mobile," he added.
Opera's browser technology renders Web sites to fit inside the area of a mobile phone screen. The browser is also designed to display sites faster than competitors', von Tetzchner said.
In addition to Opera Mobile, the company also offers Opera Mini, a free browser that works on most Java-enabled phones. It communicates with a server hosted by Opera or a mobile operator that strips down Web sites for quicker, less data intensive mobile browsing.
Mozilla Corp. also offers a mobile browser called Minimo that hasn't gained much traction in the market. Nokia Corp. has used Opera browsers historically but is now primarily using a browser it developed internally.

Television Shows!!!
Television is the great source of information, knowledge, entertainment, music, politics and movies. There are so many channels in different regional languages. To talk about my hood, the history of Television channel is not very old. It's just mere 14-15 years old. We used to have one channel and starting with that one channel, we now have abundance of around 100 channels these days. It takes so much time for me to concentrate on single channel. So, i keep changing channels on and on.
I love something related to special effects which are used in movies, music videos songs etc. I also watch programs based on technology, computer games, etc. Almost all channels are satellite based which we get through the receiver antenna of local
cable operator. Those cable operators, i don't know much, have authentic as well as pirated channels being shown.
Of all the channels, it's really irony not to see a single channel showing properly on tech issues. May be i haven't noticed any such programs but being Nepalese, i always loved to see one.
But it's unfortunate, that we've no single television program is based on it. There are almost 5 Nepalese channels. Their programs are based on every theme and topic. But they missed out on technology. They could have included some programs based on information technology. It would create awareness to masses about the technology. But to me, i think it's the lack of sponsorship that existence of such educational programs is proved to be hard.
I used to watch one such program in NTV metro but that program dissappeared without much sponsors or you can say ad. People don't trust on technology, they trust Comedy shows rather and they collect more Ads than others. Due to this negligence towards the technology, there is no single TV program based on this particular theme.
This is really something to think upon.. really!!!
This is really something to think upon.. really!!!

Ella - The classic chatbot for your Windows OSes
This is based in part on the program Eliza written in the 1960's by
MIT scientist Joseph Weizenbaum and named after Eliza Doolittle.
EllaDemo5 is also based on ideas and work of several others in the
field, but I will not attempt to list them all here at this time.
My code was written in loosely coupled cohesive objects that can
easily be adapted for use as part of an efficient interface between
a database and Active Server Pages for Internet access . One
straightforward enhancement could be to add voice synthesis to the
words Ella generates as text.

99 Useful Run Commands
Do you use the Run feature in Windows XP? For most, this feature remains unused (or rarely used). Why is that? Well, First off nearly all of the Run Commands Correspond to a particular Control Panel Item or a Utility, Tool or Task that can be accessed through Windows. There are, however, tools and utilities that I bet you never knew you had that can be accessed through the Run feature. The main reason most people don't use the Run feature is because they don't know the Commands. So, to solve that problem, I decided to put together the following listing, which lists 99 Run Commands and what they correspond too...

Wikipedia in REAL danger!!!
Florence Devouard, chairwoman of the Wikimedia Foundation, caused a bit of a stir at the recent Lift conference in Geneva by suggesting that Wikipedia is running out of money and could “disappear” — The original report came on a blog written by Philippe Mottaz, a Swiss multimedia producer and journalist. According to his report, Ms. Devouard told the conference:
“Wikipedia has the financial resources to run its servers for about three to four months. If we do not find additional funding, it is not impossible that Wikipedia might disappear.”
There is also a similar report from Bruno Giussani, an author and the European director of the TED conferences. Meanwhile, a Wikimedia staff member named Sandy Ordonez has posted a comment on Nick’s post saying “Ms. Devouard’s comment was taken out of context” and that “Wikipedia will not be closing any time soon. Ms. Devouard was simply referring to the ongoing, pressing needs for funds that Wikipedia, like most nonprofit organizations, face.”
Perhaps Ms. Devouard was simply using her platform at Lift to raise awareness that Wikipedia needs donations to continue. According to Mr. Giussani, Wikipedia now has 350 servers and requires at least $5-million U.S. just to keep the service alive, let alone grow. A recent fundraising drive raised $1-million.
A couple of things spring to mind — the first being: Couldn’t Chad Hurley or Steve Chen, who are now multimillionaires, or Jeff Bezos or Steve Jobs or one of a dozen other billionaire geeks cough up a measly $1-million or $2-million to keep the lights on at Wikipedia? And the second is whether this might revive interest in Jason Calacanis’s idea of running small ads on the site, which he said at one point was worth as much as $5-billion.

Vista successor "Vienna" planned for late 2009
Now that Microsoft has freed Windows Vista from the shackles of a five year development process, the company is attempting to wow us by revealing that it plans to have its next major operating system ready within the next two-and-a-half years, giving Vista's successor an expected release date of late 2009. Speaking to PC World, Ben Fathi, the executive in charge of the OS's core components, made it clear that he was referring to a whole new OS -- known to have the codename "Vienna" -- and not the upcoming Vista service pack, codenamed "Fiji."
Other than this tentative release date, Ben didn't have much new information on the future for Windows: in response to the question of what Vienna's killer feature will be, he said "I don't know what it is" and then proceeded to suggest that full virtualization and a radical new user interface will be the aim. Both of these suggestions lend credence to previous reports that a break in compatiblity with older applications and a new user interface would be Vienna's flagship features. Now all we've got to do is wait (and hope that the changes aren't too radical.)

Windows Live Mail Now 'Live Hotmail'
In an attempt to allay confusion over its new AJAX-enabled webmail system, Microsoft said Thursday that Windows Live Mail was being renamed to Windows Live Hotmail. The decision follows a recent switch to keep the classic Hotmail interface for existing users.
Microsoft says that during beta testing, which began last March, it learned that users were "extremely loyal to the Hotmail brand" and "a bit confused by name change." Therefore, it hopes the Windows Live Hotmail name will reiterate that the new service retains what users liked about the old system.
"As we prepare to launch the final version of our new web mail service, we recognize the importance of ensuring that our 260+ million existing customers come over to the new service smoothly and without confusion," Windows Live Hotmail senior product manager Richard Sim wrote. "We hope you like the approach we're taking and see this as a positive change."
Initial responses weren't that positive, however, noting the constant name-changing and rebranding going on under the Windows Live moniker.
"I understand the notion of loyalty; however, this is a new system and a new service. So why confuse users by merging two names of dissimilar systems. Starting new needs to be seen not as a detriment but as a way to start fresh and lure new customers into the system," replied a user named Dave K.
Other users asked how the name change would affect Windows Live Mail Desktop, the Windows-based application that integrates with the webmail service while offering support for third party POP and IMAP e-mail accounts. "So will we have 'Windows Live Hotmail Desktop Mail for Windows' soon?" quipped a user named Gregor.
Microsoft recently rolled out Milestone 9 of Windows Live Hotmail, but has yet to announce when the system will replace Hotmail. With pressure coming from both Google, Yahoo and AOL, Microsoft is wary about making any major changes to Hotmail that could push users away from the service, even if those changes are simply upgrading functionality.

These are some of the aerial photos of Kathmandu Value. Few of you(including me), who have not got chance to see how it looks like from sky, here is your chance to see it.
This pictures are not mine. I got them from net and it was saved useless on my harddrive. I felt you could see and analyze which road leads where. It was quite fun for me with my friends to analyze that way.
They are inside. Check them out.
