Lenshopper.com : Contact Lenses at the best price

Now and then you can hear reports about how people have got serious eye infections by wearing contact lenses, this can be very misleading since the risk of getting an eye infection by wearing contact lenses is minimal if you just use the proper instructions of handling your lenses.

Some basic tips that always should be followed are:

- Wash your hands thoroughly before handling your lenses

- Clean your contact lenses carefully before putting them in their lens cleaning case

- Never use the lens cleaning case more then three months at the time and clean the case after every use

- Never use any other type of liquid then the lens solution your optometrist have recommended

- Never use contact lens when swimming

- Never change the type of contact lens without consulting with your optician before. For example switching from monthly disposables lenses to daily disposables.

Even though the quality of contact lenses always are improving, persons using one day disposable lenses are less likely to get an eye infection as a result of bad handling of the lenses.

Another thing to reflect over is that most contact lens wearers usually change their contacts in the bathroom even though this is the place where bacteria’s will most likely thrive.

Somebody paid me to hack password

I didn't know that I was totally lost within these past few weeks until someone special pinched me with her rightful words. Was I so lost? I think Yes. Last two days, it's been even more of the busiest day of the month and heck of a challenge for me.

There is one financial organization located on downtown which is just some 10 minutes walk away from my residence. There is one peculiar situation and mystery out there that I'm asked to solve. One of the employees of that company, ripped off the company, stole all the cash. She knew that 4 close-circuit Cameras are constantly monitoring her. How dare she did that? That was something first stroke in my head as soon as I was briefed the whole story upon reaching the scene. I asked what was my job and they wanted me to break the password of the software of those cameras which is responsible for recording all the footages. This is something smartest thing she had done. She changed the password and nobody has access to any video record footages and so. That's how the owner thought.

It took some 3 hours of a day to figure out all the system on how it worked. This was something new to my field and I'd never done that before but I like challenges and I took that as a challenge. First day I spent learning the system. So many things were whirling inside my mind. I was searching folders for videos but I couldn't find one. I checked the entire registry keys associated with the software itself to catch it's critical file informations and how it works. There were no video files within the software's installed folder. This had been a real irritation to me. The owner wanted me to break the password, so that he could access the software and see the footage of particular day back in past. Here his only motivation was to check videos. So, I was trying first effort to find the videos if it was saving somewhere in hard drive. Checked all the folders in and out, and there were some files damn encrypted. I knew that was something important and I didn't care breaking that. A little search on google told me that this piece of software saves video files in *.avi format. I didn't think of *.avi because it takes lots of space if saved on that format but my suspicion turned out to be truth. Those video files were just a few click away and I found them all. huhaa. Moreover, the files were saved in some 20070312114501.avi . Looks weird file naming, but it didn't take more than 15 seconds for me to figure that whole thing.

"ifyoucanreadthisdamnsentencethenthatswhatiwastalkingabout"

The file was saved by year, month, date, hour, min, sec standard. I asked owner which day he wanted to check videos of and I showed him how to do that. It was too much for his non-techie head. He just wanted that programs password to be broken so that he could check it by himself. whewww.. Okay. and I told him that the software needed to be uninstalled and reinstalled. He refused it first because the computer was ON since more than a 1 year(unbelievable, Windows XP could constantly run without crashing and acting as a server for more than a year??? wowww, ). I could see that because the screen was burnt out and so faded. To assure him, I called the Tech Support in Australia(the manufacturer of PC DVD 4 Net-system being used there) and he told me the same thing, reinstall everything to break the password. He told me there was no way to reset the password. After knowing all these things, I thought to backup all the videos first just in case. Did that, Uninstalled and re-installed the whole software. Run the program, set the softwares settings. Everything seemed working perfectly but somehow the program was not linking back to those old videos. Another moment of despair, damn.. Called the Tech Support and they told me that there was nothing to be worried about since the only solution was to reinstall and the index file got deleted. He told me it's normal. I described same thing to the owner. I could see frustration in his face. I told him to manually check the videos one by one. After a while, I handed over him the phone where the Tech Support at another end told him to check the video manually. That made me feel easy whatsoever.

The reason why he wanted those video clips so madly and badly is because he wanted to show it as a proof to court(actually he's asked to bring one) where he's filed a case against that girl. The video where he hopes he could find the girl doing some nasty stealing red-handed. Lets hope for so. I did analyzing for some hours and what I saw was even more astonishing. The owner wanted me to check videos from Feb 15 to March 20. Guess what, that gurl wasn't dumb, she deleted all footages from Feb 13 to Feb 22. Then, I was sure that the girl had planned this from the beginning and she knew what she was doing. Smart enough yeah, messed with password, then deleted all the video footages only of those days related. To the worst, she even credited all the money of clients to her own bank account. Gosh!!! I imagined, If I would have her to receive my cash, she would have credited it to her account and present me with just mere fake print-outs.. pheww.

These whole things look straight forward while writing but it took considerable amount of my time, almost 3 days. I wrote a note yesterday and left it at the owner's table(he left by the time I came to some conclusion) letting him know about how to view videos and also about missing video footages. When, he'll know this today, he'll gonna have a major headache of the month. He's to present the video footage by the next week on Monday. I really don't know what's his next step would be.

Actually, I got this project through my father's friend DADA and he wanted me to do this job and took it.

Right now, I'm in dilemma. That nasty girl had done whatever she thought was good. I could recover those datas with ease but the owner himself is very peculiar. And, I don't want to do this recovering data for same price. Moreover, I'm not even in a state to let him know that I could do the job of recovering. He'll suspect me and I don't want someone having suspicious look on me. Really screwed up owner and really awkward situation for me. If I do recovery, I've to charge way more. And, I somehow knew that owner is a little scrooge when it comes to money. So, I'm stopping and leave him at his own.

Today, If I'm called upon, I've to hit the place one more time. I already set up remote video facility. Anyone with the IP address and port can view the Live surveillance of the field. It's perfect and working. It's something he wanted so that he could watch from his home too. I'm proud of myself :) And this is to let him know after few days, after all court issues are over. Even if it's totally new concept for me, I now have a stern confidence that I can learn anything so quicker if it's related to tech stuff.

If you have read all this, thanks a lot for reading my rambling.

This is one of a hundred mails that I receive over the course of months. The reason I particularly chose this mail to disclose on my blog is because, it was using Gmail account as a sender's email address. The header info of this mail proved that. Moreover, the recipient of the mail was none other than the sender herself/himself. Why would he/she send the same message to himself/herself?

Simple, the recipients could be many and he/she has put those emails on BCC(blind carbon copy) field (while composing to conceal those email address). Another reason could be to check if email have been sent or not by confirming first on her/his own mail box.

So, normal gullible user falls prey on such mails and ends up thinking 'wow, a mail from lady'. What he doesn't know is that same mail has been sent to hundred others. Interestingly, these people are smart enough to be able to send those emails based upon one's sex. I mean, a guy would never receive a mail from guy, it's always girl and girl would receive a mail from guy. It's the smartest thing these spammers have been doing lately. Do you know how do they do it? There are special softwares to do that, they are called 'Email extractor' or 'Email harvester' . These softwares were originally launched to help user to manage their email contacts but spammers put it for their own use. So, You wouldn't get these softwares easily on regular download sites. What these softwares do is pretty impressive, you just enter some domain name on one field, and hit the 'Extract' or some other button, and booom... all emails within that site would be extracted and saved on nice 'txt' or some other format. Moreover, extracting emails from forwarded mails, chain mails, all of them is a piece of cake. So, now, you have list of emails at your desk.

The very next step that they would do is to use special softwares using their own SMTP(Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server. When you send your email from gmail, SMTP of gmail is used and when you receive mails , another protocol known as POP(Post Office Protocol) is used. Maximum number of recipients on these kind of web mail service provider is very limited, so don't even think of spamming using these for long time. So, it really doesn't matter for them if they don't have this POP active. They just need to send their mails with marketing stuff, that's it. Now, this special softwares that they use are normally known as 'Mass Mailer' or 'bulk mailer' or 'email bombers'. Sometimes, these programs are equipped with their own SMTP server which lets anyone be anonymous in most cases. Normally, it would take considerable amount of your time sending one message to .. say 4000 recipients and.. of course depending upon your connection speed.

So, this is one method that I've discovered how spammers work. But this above mail that I got, he/she is not using any of these softwares, he/she used just plain gmail compose box and sent it to may be 40-50 recipients.

One thing I really didn't like about gmail is they never allow to see the originating IP of the senders to other end. Their policy talks about protecting one's privacy which seems virtuous but I THINK it's becoming more virtuous to spammers than average users who want to file complaints about the nonsense stuffs they get on their mail box.

If you're interested, I've an article posted many months ago, how to trace email and find IP(IP is used for tracking the senders and his ISP,sometimes it's used for remote access).
Here is the link if you are interested, else disregard as this post continues:
http://www.meroguff.com/2007/10/how-to-trace-email-address.html

Now, coming to the point, I don't see anything on that mail above? Is he/she selling you anything like 'how to pump boobs, enlarge your manhood, sleep disorder curing, blah blah blah '. Nope, then what could be it's intentions?

The first thing is to confirm that you are active and your email is perfect to be targeted at ...by spams. They collect working emails. And, if you have cared recently how 'make money marketing' is proliferating online. One of the method is sending unsolicited mails to thousands of mails they've collected. Believe this unbelieving fact that more than 40 percent actually buy them, the product they've marketed on spam mails. That's how spam is still in the business. Here, Spamming to me, is sending unrequested marketing promos oriented to sell/market standard/substandard products to thousands of email users all around. It's kind of boring AD on TVs but totally unethical and annoying. Pretty bad.

If I reply this mail back, my mail will be on their list and my email would get appended on their some thousands mail lists which would get sold for few hundred bucks. And, what we get is unsolicited marketing bullshits.

Everytime those spam mails make ways to your inbox, mark the sender's email as SPAM. No big deal. And, one more thing to note. If you think, it's way too much convincing (from your last visit to the fair) like "hey, you are the lottery winner, claim it".. you actually did pay for the lottery and here comes the mail, 'hey you won it'. Damn, it's pretty convincing. Halt your step before you follow any further step and search on google using the keywords on that particular mail. Smart Step than being a stupid looser.

So, if you think and follow all the suggestions that I've given here, together, we'll defeat SPAM one day. One stat shows the days ahead is of glorious spammers but imagine if everyone becomes SPAM-aware like you and me, then their days are numbered.

Spread the words , guys.

Guaranteed Traffic for your blogs and sites

As soon as you start new blog, you need some exposure. Before that You must have one thing in mind. Initially, blogs were designed to be strictly personal, it was just like personal diary of someone. So, it can be a very personal site for writers looking to express their innermost personal thoughts. But time has changed, bloggers want readers these days, to reciprocate their views. If you choose to share your blogging thoughts, you will want a steady stream of readers for your blog to be successful. More exposure to your web blog means more readers. Therefore, start submitting your site to all search engines. Start with major search engines like Google, MSN and Yahoo. I urge you to manually submit yours site on these 3 sites.

But have you ever thought and realized how tiresome it is to submit your site/URL all over those search engines , one by one?? It's one hellava time consuming and hectic step to follow once your site/blog is setup.

Here is a solution, a software to automate and ease the task of directory submission:

Directory Submitter

If you buy this software, then you'll be submitting your URL to over 2200 high ranking search engines, easily.

Buy Directory Submitter

BUT, even if you don't buy this software, there is a freeware solution.

I've already downloaded this software, download it from the link below which will limit your URL to be submitted upto 300 search engines(compare 300 and 2200 search engines). Somehow, if you want more, just follow the link above. Now, download this free DIRECTORY SUBMITTER from the link below:

This is a perfect solution to submit your links to hundreds of search engine easily. How easily?? well,... you don't need to enter each and every field on all those search engines, just create a project and rest let this program do it's work.

REMEMBER, it'll take several weeks to get listed on search engines. Don't expect quick result within few days. That's how search engines work because they get millions of request per day.

Now, that you've found a smart solution to expose your site/blog. How about some articles? If you are a good writer and want that your articles be read by thousands of readers, then you've to submit your articles or posts to articles directory like ArticleCity. It's again same hectic process to submit through each and every single article directory.

This weekend at San Francisco Golden Gate

Had a wonderful weekend as usual, captured the moments in my digicam, just back from the trip, and uploaded pictures(I usually don't like my pictures myself but anyhow, I took few of 'em and uploaded here) right away on my PC. Seems like a long time that I've been out of touch with my blog but despite my weary condition now, I'm posting..ahem(flashback).. wow.. quite an excitement to put a log of wonderful trip that I had with my family.

Destinations were San Francisco(SF) Golden Gate and SF Botanical garden along with Japanese Tea Garden. SF Golden Gate is the extraordinary work of engineering done some hundreds year ago. I read some of its historical briefing out there and it's really intriguing. Spent few hours there, weather was so nice, cool breeze blowing, I could feel the air, smell it perfectly and the moment of bliss that I felt within my bloodstream just by staring down at the Golden gate from up above the sea level, at mountain was awesome. I really felt blessed to see those historic inventions proudly built. Really impressive , you know? This Golden gate has been featured on many documentaries and movies and many photographers make living out of it, just by taking breath-taking snapshots of this gate and surroundings.

Later, we moved to Japanese Tea Garden. This place was small heaven on earth and literally gave me the feelings of being at somewhere in Japan. Some small bonsai trees and plants were there to grab peoples attentions. There were multi-story temples and some trees were fabulous and the blossomed flowers, ahh.. that was way romantic and enough to take away all your griefs of your tired muscles and legs. There was small shop selling Japanese items and my brother got hooked up with some sort of sword, if I'm not wrong that was KATANA. He wanted one of it badly unless my Aunt told him that he can get it at very cheap price in our own downtown stores.

It was pretty tiring, we walked whole day on those beautiful places, it was somewhat small hike but we forgot all our grief and muscle pain because of those delightful sceneries. Finally, we thought to take a walk inside SF botanical garden, the most romantic and cool park I've ever seen in entire California till date. May be I still have so many places to visit yet but, till date, awesome.. botanical garden was just awesome, small ponds, sea gulls and mallard swimming on, small creeks, and squirrel wandering just nearby you, pure green grasslands.. it was nothing but some fantasy lands come true feelings for me.

By the time, I started to starve at max. So, had lunch in one chinese restaurant, felt revived and this time, I walked a lot and felt more energized. Day passed and had to come back,.. wow.. it was an awesome weekend for me.

The following photos(can be enlarged upon clicking) are the memoirs of the day:

Way to Japanese Tea Garden, I found these beautiful birds floating and took shot of 'em

Another shot of the same location above

These flowers shot that I took inside Japanese Tea Garden

From the mountain above SF golden Gate

this is curious george, I mean my brother.. ha ha ha that shot which I took, doesn't he look like flying?

That's me and behind? it's SF Golden Gate

SF Golden Gate view from mountain

Somewhere on the way to SF, exit to restroom(Do I look Blessed??)

What Kills a Blog?

Somewhere on my old posts, I've written about the fact that says every 3 seconds a new blog is born and at the same ratio blog dies too. The reason I'm digging that out of my old post is because, I'm concerned about why do these blogs die and What causes newbie bloggers to drop the idea of blogging.

Most often bloggers complain that after a great start, a year later their blog is as dead as can be. This is a common problem that almost always revolves around a small list of common mistakes made by the blogger. A blogger can sit back and expect the blog to do all of the work for him or her, which is a terrible way to approach blogging. A successful blogger would tell you that great blogging takes a certain amount of dedication and hard effort to make it work. You have to put effort into a blog to sustain it, especially after the first month or so of completing the design. Many people work so hard during the initial design phase that they get lazy after it is complete. To avoid this happening to your blog, check out these common reasons that can kill a blog.

Infrequent Updates

One of the biggest mistakes a blogger can make is to “forget” about posting. The most successful blogs are updated with new posts at least once a day. Some larger blogs are constantly being updated. You should try to create new posts as often as possible. If you miss a day here and there, it will be no big deal. However, if you miss a week or more without posting, you might as well consider the blog dead already. You have to take a few moments, even as few as five, a day to create interesting posts or content. If you are writing short and concise posts like you should be, this should not be that challenging. It is easy to keep your blog updated, if you make it a priority.

Too Much Advertising

Most bloggers today do want to make a profit from their blog. This is a trend that can get out of control quickly however. If you are interested in adding ads to your blog, do so with caution. There is nothing wrong with a few appropriately places ads that offer viewers links to places that correlate with your blog’s content. However, adding a massive amount of advertisements on your blog is a mistake. If you have a bunch of flashy ads on your blog, your content will get lost within the hoopla. Therefore, you should always limit your ads to three or less per page. Make sure you place them in appropriate places that let your content shine through. Don’t allow enormous ads to fill up your pages either. They will simply annoy readers. Be smart about including advertising on your blog!

Unprofessional Look

Looks do matter when it comes to your blog. The more professional and crisp your blog looks, the more your readers will take you seriously. If you are interesting in boosting traffic, you should try a more serious layout or presentation for your blog. If you can afford to hire a professional, you should. If you choose to do it yourself however, you must make sure the end product is good. If you have a sloppy blog that looks “homemade” you will not likely have a great response. Try different layouts and approaches to see what gets you the most traffic.

Graphics Overload

Pictures can add a ton to your blog and draw in more readers. However, when done excessively, much like ads, pictures can drive people away. The main reason too many pictures can ruin a blog is because there are many web surfers who still use slow internet connections. When they try to load your page, it will take an excessively long time to do so. This in turn will likely drive them and anyone else with this problem away. Try limiting to a few pictures per page.

Inappropriate Content

Everyone knows that the web is a place where you can freely express yourself. However, if you want your blog to survive, you might want to think about that freedom of expression. Although you should always say what you feel, you can do so in appropriate manners on your blog. There are ways to say anything on your mind, without using profanity or any offensive lingo. If you want your blog to be successful, you cannot be inappropriate with your contents.

New MSN messenger Virus referring malicious sites

I was online today, suddenly someone who was offline or someone whose contact I've deleted long time ago sent me a link out of no where. The link was something like; www.shorty-link.com

What would you do if you get links out of nowhere or from your closest friend? Would you click them without waiting? I wouldn't .

But there is a strange itch that goes on my spine always, that is to play with malicious scripts. So, the next moment, I loaded up that site. (Please don't try that by yourself). The site was null. I didn't get any message neither from my anti-spyware nor from my firewall(I prefer COMODO firewall). So, nothing much happened to my system. On top of that I already had updated Windows Live Messenger few days ago and all my systems regular updates.

So, buddies, always update at least once a week, update your system files. Because, virus writers are always on set to use different strategies. This time, they are using referral link on msn messenger So, when you visit certain sites, how would you get infected?? Wouldn't it require user intervention?

Nope, unless and until you click that link, you are saved but as soon as you click that link or visit the infected sites, you are not safe. Those sites could run executables and put some strange icons on your desktop making it look like some system tuning softwares? Gullible users click them and what next, they are even more infected to the level which needs hardcore PC tune ups and maintenance.

At first place don't click any such links. Just make sure asking your friends if they've sent them.

Unfortunately, if you get infected, give your anti-spywares(I prefer Spybot - search and destroy) some vigorous work of scanning your system. Run your antivirus (updated one and I prefer NOD32) as well. You need extra work of manually editing registry and so. HiJack , a malicious detector, which digs into your registry and shows you where is the fault can be very helpful if you know how to use it.

So, depending upon which virus you may encounter, take a necessary initiatives after searching a while on Internet. I've already given you so many hints above. The next step is action and that requires you.

Speed up your Entrecard drops easily

(Note: If you don't know what Entrecard is all about, then may disregard this post. But, if you are interested, then visit Entrecard or have a read on my Entrecard Reviews:
Review I
Review II)

If your blog is popular and there are hundreds of entrecard fans following to drop cards, then you don't have to worry and make an effort to drop 300 entrecard drops daily.

BUT, if you need a quality visitors, then you would visit the entrecard members blog and drop your cards. This is the first step you've to do when you sign up at Entrecard or probably for ever until you get some recognition.

You know the way you are dropping your cards, it's pretty time consuming. I must emphasize again, it's really really time consuming. What do you do normally?
-Go to the Entrecard dashboard and find out whoever dropped their cards on yours. Then most probably you'd right click on their 125 x 125 entrecard and select 'Open in new Tab' or so.
- If you think yourself extra smart or cool, you would hold the CTRL+SHIFT(or just SHIFT) key and left click all those links one by one.
- You would go to 'campaign' after finishing the visits to those recent droppers and now painfully slow process of dropping cards begins. There are hundreds of blogs under different categories and it would take forever to drop your cards on them.

Last time, I had a small discussion with my friend and he told me that it usually takes 4 hours to drop 300 Entrecards per day. 4 hoursssssss??? I barely spent 30 minutes to drop because I knew how painfully slow process it is to drop cards.

Without a further ado, here is a solution:
The tools you need are:
1) Firefox Browser
2) Snap Links(firefox plugin)

Snap links would let you select and open all multiple links at once. You can learn more about it by visiting above plugin page but for now, if you're in a hurry, as soon as you install that plugin, just access your ENTRECARD dashboard,
-hold your right mouse button
-drag around all the links of 125 x 125 entrecards and release the right-mouse button.

-At one go, all links shall open.
(this plugin is originally for opening multiple links at once.)

So, visit individual page and start dropping. In an average, you'll be saving 10 seconds of your precious time per drop.

One more thing, it will be too taxing for your browser and your system if you are on dialup and has slow system, so start with 5 or upto 10 links altogether but if you are on broadband, use this firefox hack to speed up things to prevent yourself from browser lockups or crashes.

This is an excerpt from my old post:

- In firefox address bar, type 'about:config' (without quotes) and hit enter key.
(This shall reveal all the meat and bones of firefox. Don't mess with this up unless you know what you are doing or so far instructed)

- Scroll down and look for something like this below listed entries:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

- change the settings of those entries to:
"network.http.pipelining" to "true"
"network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
"network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 25. This means it will make 25 requests at once.
(You can put 20 or whatever you like to put. But don't put 100. You don't want to open 100 sites at once. Do you? i just put it to 25, it's my need)
(Note: you can double click to change the value or right-click those entries and select 'Toggle')

Finally, right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer.
Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0".
(This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.)

Now broadband users will be able to fully exploit their speedy bandwidth.
Remember, firefox is optimized for slow connection, so, you must use this above hack if you are on broadband

Thank you for reading this post. If you've any other method, please let me know or drop some comments

How to access blocked or banned sites using Proxy sites

Internet censorship is everywhere. Your office, company, school, country or institution may impose internet censorship. So, it looks like you can't view the sites of your choice from these places however if you know how to bypass such limitations and read banned/blocked site, it'd be charm.

Usually, using google's cache feature, one can have a look at those sites but what if google itself is banned. There are some posts I've made on this regard. If you search my blog with the keyword "anonymous", then you'll be shown with the detail articles on it. That means, there are many ways to bypass such limitations. Using proxy sites is the most easiest way of bypassing such limits.

Here are the proxy lists:

So, WOW, you figured it out.. WOW Great!!!
-----------------------------------------
Hey, did you know that A brand new store has just opened in New York City that sells Husbands. Yea, husbands.. ladies!!! ehehe

"You may visit this store ONLY ONCE!" There are 6 floors and the value of the products increase as you ascend the flights. You may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you CANNOT go back down except to exit the building! So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband.

On the 1st floor the sign on the door reads:
Floor 1 - These men have jobs. The 2nd floor sign reads:
Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.
The 3rd floor sign reads:
Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, love kids and are extremely good looking.
"Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the 4th floor and the sign reads:
Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, love kids, are drop-dead good looking and Help with Housework.
"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!"

Still, she goes to the 5th floor and sign reads:
Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love kids, are drop-dead gorgeous, help with housework and Have a strong romantic streak.
She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the 6th floor and the sign reads:

Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.

To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opens a New Wives store just across the street.

The 1st floor has wives that love sex.
The 2nd floor has wives that love sex and have money.
The 3rd through 6th floors have never been visited.

Have you switched to Digital Camera?

Believe it or not, majority of people are still using old film-based cameras. Years passed, people got rid of old polaroid to a nice 35mm manual camera for all of their photo needs. The time they changed, the picture quality was crisp and the colors were far more vibrant compared to the old models. It's time to switch again, because, digital era has already begun and we must sooner or later adopt it. Now, if you ask me, why it's time to switch then, the reason is obvious. Film-based cameras are loosing their grounds when breathtaking and faster operations are being easily performed by digital cameras.

You may be reluctant to abandon your 35mm rig, but the time is right. Digital camera prices have dropped and the digital photography offers some very strong advantages over film.

First, digital photography provides better photos. This is probably the strongest suit for digital options. Pictures have greater clarity and colors are unbelievably vibrant. Digital cameras can produce photographic prints of a much higher quality for most non-professional photographers. Additionally, the digital medium is far more forgiving than film. Novices can manage nearly professional-grade pictures.

A simple piece of photo editing software multiplies this advantage. One can remove red-eye with a few mouse clicks, crop out unwanted background items, or adjust color and contrast to produce a truly outstanding photograph. Absent the use of a scanner (and a scanner that’s up to the task can be hard to find or afford), traditional film-based alternatives do not allow for this kind of photo correction.

Second, digital photography offers greater efficiency. When one takes a photo with film, they are committed to each and every shot they take. One the button is pushed, another frame of film is used. When one goes to develop their photos, they pay for every print, regardless of quality. Thus, photographers lay out cash to see pictures of their blurred thumbs, kitchen floors and the notorious “accidental first shot” when one is “testing” to make sure the film was loaded into the camera.

Digital cameras allow you to preview your snapshots before deciding which ones to print. Thus, the cost associated with printing poor quality and error-riddled pictures is completely avoided. In the long run, this can add up. If one tends to take a great deal of photos, or simply hates paying for useless snapshots, digital cameras are a great option.

Third, digital photography allows for far greater flexibility in use. Digital photographs are far more portable than traditional snapshots. They can be instantly shared via email with others. They can be posted online and shared with others, too. Digital photographers do not find themselves writing “Photos: Do Not Bend” on envelopes.

The digital nature of the pictures also allows for additional storage opportunities. A photo album is great for your old Polaroids, but what happens if it is misplaced or damaged? Digital photos can be retained on CD-roms or stored online, making them immediately and repeatedly accessible for viewing and/or printing.

The graphics files that are digital photographs can also be easily converted to other uses. Transforming them into T-shirt iron-ons, coffee mug adornments, and other novelty items is a snap using inexpensive photo software.

When one considers the potential long-term cost savings and the greater flexibility offered by digital photography and couples those strengths with the improved picture quality the cameras offer, it becomes clear that anyone interested in documenting their life and the lives of loved ones should make the switch.

It may be hard to put that old camera in a shoebox or to give it to the kids, but the time to do just that is here. There’s no reason to continue snapping film-based pictures and being disappointed with the results. Digital cameras allow you to produce excellent photos. And, when you don’t, you aren’t obligated to buy them or keep them. If you haven’t yet jumped on the digital bandwagon, it is time. The prices are definitely right and the advantages to photography using digital equipment are simply too overwhelming to ignore.
